Missions

Our Purpose

The heartbeat of FBC missions is to encounter Christ and point others to God by ministering to the needs of people. When we touch the lives of people in need, we encounter Christ. When we do good toward others, God is glorified.

A key verse for us is Acts 1:8.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

While missions begins for us in Monroe, it doesn’t end here. We are a church on the move. Our goal is to touch our community, state, country, continent, and world with the love of Christ.

You’re invited to join us as we give ourselves away through missions. God is at work in His world and longs for each of us to join Him. Whatever your gift, lay it before God through missions. Together we’ll “Encounter Christ through Service to Others.”

Our Strategic Plan

Committee Purpose: Encountering Christ and pointing others to God by ministering to the needs of people.

Vision Statement: To create and promote opportunities that involve church members in local, state, North American, and international missions; and to lead the church to cooperate with other churches and organizations to meet the spiritual and physical needs of people.

Focal passages:

– Acts 1:8: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Jerusalem being Local Missions, Judea being State Missions, Samaria being North American Missions, and Ends of the Earth being International Missions.

– John 15:8: “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.”
