Mission Statement
The mission of the preschool ministry is to teach preschoolers God’s word in a safe and pleasant environment.
“Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Luke 2:52
Wisdom – Mentally
Stature – Physically
Favour with God – Spiritually
Favour with Man – Socially
Teaching
To fulfill our mission to teach our preschoolers God’s word, we use learning centers. Preschoolers learn by doing. Activity teaching offers firsthand experiences to the preschoolers. Through activities the preschooler uses his five senses to learn. Curiosity motivates a preschooler to search and discover. Repetition sharpens acquired skills and develops new ones. The doing is the child’s play, and play is the preschooler’s full-time occupation. In the classroom, the home living center, blocks, books, nature, music, puzzles, art, and circle time are used for teaching. We want our preschoolers to have a strong foundation to grow on.
We focus on eight major building blocks for our preschoolers:
God – God loves me.
Jesus – Jesus is God’s son.
Bible – The Bible is a special book.
Self – God made me.
Family – I have a family that loves me.
Others – Other people are important to God and in my life.
Church – I come to church to learn about God.
Nature – God made the world.
To achieve our mission to keep preschoolers in safe and pleasant environment we have a security system in place, emergency procedures established, hygiene polices to follow, and food and safety guidelines in our classrooms.

Can I volunteer to help?
Volunteers are essential to the ministries of First Baptist, as we could not do what we do without them. Those interested in volunteering in our Preschool, Children, and Student Ministries should contact our ministry offices to find out more about the opportunities to serve.
Your child’s safety is first priority when you entrust your child to a ministry’s care. In light of this responsibility, our church utlilizes MinistrySafe. It was created to equip churches and ministries to protect children and students from the risk of sexual abuse.
